About the Position:
Radiology Service Technician II
Primary location will be either Texas Health HEB (Hurst-Euless-Bedford) or Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas.
Travel is required to all other THR entities as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (including,but not limited to)
Repair,install,maintain,calibrate and inspect high-end diagnostic imaging systems. Provides instruction and guidance to other Technicians in performing these duties.
Perform Preventative Maintenance and Electrical Safety of high end diagnostic imaging systems. Effectively review historic documentation to determine additional testing that could prevent future system failures. Develops protocols and procedures for PM and testing of Diagnostic Imaging equipment.
Complete and maintain documentation of all PM and repair actions in a timely manner using established Dept. work order/asset management program.
Performs daily rounds in assigned areas. Works specifically with staff in high-end modalities such as MR,CT,Nuclear medicine and/or Angiographic/Vascular Imaging. Participates in on-call duties for weekend and after hours service coverage.
Periodically travel to various Texas Health Resources facilities to perform service related activities.
Associates Degree or 2 year degree/diploma in Radiology Equipment Technology or Electronics
or equivalent such as Military training/education or Vocational/Trade school.
An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Specialized formal training and Certification of Completion in CT,Nuclear Medicine,MR or Angiographic/Vascular Imaging Systems. This training should be from an OEM or recognized Radiology Training Institute.
8-10 years of experience servicing Diagnostic Imaging systems with at least 2 years of experience of Primary responsibility servicing the above specialized modalities
Valid Texas Driver's License required.
Prefer Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES).
REQUIRED SKILLS: Experience in the maintenance,service and repair of Diagnostic imaging equipment with specialization in MR,CT,Nuclear medicine and/or Angiographic/Vascular systems.
Knowledge of electronic theory,technology and test equipment.
Knowledge of radiologic theory and technology.
Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation.
Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools.
Knowledge of basic network theory.
Knowledge of departmental policies,procedures and standards.
Ability to analyze electronic,electromechanical and mechanical equipment
Ability to perform preventative maintenance procedures.
Ability to isolate,test,repair or replace defective parts or assemblies.
Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs,calibrations and tests.
Ability to run diagnostic programs.
Skill in testing electronic,radiologic and mechanical systems.
Must have manual dexterity and be able to read and understand highly technical documentation and schematics.
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. with proper body mechanics.
